I wanted this to have the look of a large civil use skycrane like helicopter that was modified for combat use. Hence the patchwork of segmented armor panels, and the Skycrane like landing gear configuration. As it is excessively large and it's crew poorly protected it would favor providing long range missile support to ground troops, to close range strafing. To prevent it from relying to much on ground troops for targeting info, it has twin booms protruding from the tail section to carry, unarmed scout drones to provide accurate targeting data. it would of course be extremely vulnerable to ground based missiles, as well as attacks from fixed wing aircraft, so it would be useless in anything but a supporting role.
It should also be noted that while I used helicopter in the description, it is in fact a Gyrodyne. which is different in that as opposed to a helicopter the blades aren't driven by the central shaft, thy are driven by tiny jet engines on the tips of the rotor blades. In this case, six of them. this almost completely negates the "P factor" torque, that has to be countered by the tail rotor on a normal helicopter, which is why it has no tail rotor, or second coaxial rotor.
